In a significant step toward bolstering bilateral cooperation, a Chinese company and Kenya’s Etrade, the local EPC contractor, have deepened discussions on the execution of their jointly secured Last Mile electricity distribution project under Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC). The high-level meeting, held recently, featured Etrade’s delegation led by General Manager Mr. Vincent, alongside Supply Chain Head Ms. Michelle and Project Manager Mr. Geoffrey.
The talks focused on aligning project timelines, resource mobilization, and long-term collaboration prospects. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to timely and efficient project delivery, aiming to enhance Kenya’s rural electrification under the government’s Last Mile initiative.
“This partnership marks a milestone in Kenya’s energy sector,” said Mr. Vincent, highlighting the synergy between Chinese expertise and local execution capabilities. The project is expected to improve power access for thousands of households, driving socio-economic growth.
With contracts finalized, the teams are set to commence on-ground operations, underscoring Sino-African cooperation in infrastructure development.
