Lauca – Waco Kungo Line, Angola
Lauca – Waco Kungo Line is a 400kV overhead line with a length of 205km from Lauca Hydropower Plant, Cuanza Sul, Angola, to Waco kungo, Cuanza Sul, Angola.
The project, which is currently under construction, is expected to be commissioned in 2022.
Description
Lauca – Waco Kungo Line is an overhead line that will be operated by Rede Nacional de Transporte de Electricidade. The line will carry alternating current (AC) through single circuit cable.
Approximately $138.1m was financed by the authorities to undertake the construction works of the project.
The development of the Lauca – Waco Kungo Line project has been approved by the Institute for Electricity Regulation.

The construction works on the Lauca – Waco Kungo Line project were commenced in 2020 and commissioning is expected in 2022.
