GRAND CABLE successfully completed the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) for its cable supply project with the Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) at the end of August. ZETDC dispatched three engineers to China to participate in the acceptance, which spanned five days and covered the full process of goods inspection, sampling, testing, report preparation, verification of certification documents, and final sign-off. The entire process proceeded smoothly.
During the acceptance, the ZETDC engineers conducted an on-site review of GRAND CABLE's production facilities, confirming that product specifications, quantities, and appearance met the order requirements. The acceptance team then randomly sampled products by batch and carried out on-site testing of conductor structure, electrical performance, and dimensional parameters. All test results met the contractual technical specifications.
Upon completion of the tests, both parties jointly prepared the acceptance report and conducted an item-by-item verification of relevant certification documents, including product certificates of conformity, type test reports, and calibration certificates. After confirmation, the ZETDC engineers formally signed the acceptance report, marking the successful completion of the factory acceptance phase of the project.
The successful passing of this factory acceptance represents an important milestone for GRAND CABLE in the Zimbabwean market. ZETDC is a core subsidiary of ZESA Holdings, Zimbabwe's national power utility, responsible for nationwide electricity transmission, distribution, and grid planning and maintenance. The cables under this project will be used for the construction and maintenance of Zimbabwe's national power grid, covering low-voltage power cables and bare conductors for applications ranging from urban distribution networks to overhead transmission lines.
As GRAND CABLE's first formal order in the Zimbabwean market after several years of bidding attempts, this project has received close attention from both parties since the letter of credit was issued. The successful completion of the acceptance provides strong assurance for subsequent shipment and project delivery, further consolidating GRAND CABLE's business foundation in the Southern African power market.
GRAND CABLE is now arranging follow-up shipment in accordance with the contract to ensure timely delivery of the products to the project site in Zimbabwe.
