Grand Cable
Application
These cables are intended primary for the distribution of electrical energy under normal condition of overhead (aerial) installation and service outdoors. Approved for use on insulators for overhead circuits. Otherwise treated as a bare conductor.
Applicable Standard
ICEA S-70-5 47: Weather- Resistant Polyolefin Covered Wire and Cable.
ASTM B231: Concentric- Lay-Stranded Aluminum 1350 Conductors.
ASTM B232: Specification for Concentric-Lay-Stranded Aluminum Conductors, Coated-Steel Reinforced (ACSR).
ASTM B399: Specification for Concentric-Lay-Stranded Aluminum Alloy 6201-T81 Conductors.
Cable Construction
Conductor: Aluminum alloy 1350-H19 stranded per ASTM B231 or ACSR stranded per ASTM B232 or AAAC stranded per ASTM B399.
Separator: A suitable opaque tape, as required.
Insulation: Black thermoset cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) or thermoplastic high density polyethylene (HDPE).
