In late February, GRAND CABLE hosted a delegation from Kenya’s Last Mile Project for a Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) at our facilities. The event was attended by key stakeholders, including the client Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC), the renowned Nigerian supervision firm COLENCO, and the local Kenyan EPC contractor ETRADE. Under the joint witness of all parties, our products underwent rigorous testing and successfully met all technical and quality requirements, marking a significant milestone for the project.
The FAT covered a comprehensive range of distribution network products, including ACSR conductors, 11KV and 33KV aerial bundled cables (ABC), drop cables, binding wires, and concentric cables for household connections. Each product was thoroughly inspected and tested in accordance with international standards and project specifications. The smooth execution and positive results demonstrated GRAND CABLE’s strong manufacturing capabilities and commitment to quality.
The atmosphere throughout the process was collaborative and constructive. All parties expressed satisfaction with the test outcomes, and the FAT report was formally signed, paving the way for the next phase of the project. Our professionalism and technical expertise earned high praise from KPLC, COLENCO, and ETRADE, reinforcing GRAND CABLE’s reputation as a reliable partner in power infrastructure development.
This successful FAT not only strengthens our partnership with Kenyan stakeholders but also underscores our growing presence in East Africa’s power distribution market. Moving forward, GRAND CABLE remains dedicated to delivering high-quality solutions and expanding our footprint in the region, contributing to the electrification and sustainable development of Africa.
